Featured by Yorkville University: The Story Behind Serene Lotus Psychotherapy

I’m incredibly honoured to have my journey — and the story behind Serene Lotus Psychotherapy — featured by Yorkville University.
In the article, I had the opportunity to reflect on a journey that has been anything but linear: becoming a mother at a young age, building a career in education, earning three master’s degrees, returning to my passion for psychology, and eventually creating Serene Lotus Psychotherapy here in Burlington.
Serene Lotus began as one small office and has continued to grow into something I once only imagined — a space offering psychotherapy, EMDR therapy, body-based approaches, psychoeducation, peer support, and opportunities to support the next generation of therapists through practicum and mentorship.
One of the messages I shared with Yorkville is something that has stayed with me throughout my own journey:
There is always a way.
I’m so grateful to Yorkville University for taking the time to share my story and for highlighting the work we are doing at Serene Lotus Psychotherapy.
