Why Serene Lotus Psychotherapy Is Walking for Mental Health & Addiction Care in Burlington

Serene Lotus Psychotherapy is joining the 2026 Walk to the Lighthouse to support mental health and addiction care at Joseph Brant Hospital. Learn why this cause is personal and how you can help.
Serene Lotus Psychotherapy was founded, in part, from a deeply personal understanding of how mental health and addiction can affect not only the person struggling, but also everyone who loves them. It grew from the hope that when someone is ready to reach for help, compassionate and nonjudgmental support will be there. Today, the Serene Lotus team works to provide that kind of space—a place where people can feel welcomed, understood, and supported as they move toward greater hope, stability, and healing. That is why our team is proud to participate in the Walk to the Lighthouse for Mental Health & Addictions on September 27, 2026, in support of mental health and addiction care at Joseph Brant Hospital.
Why This Walk Matters
Mental health and addiction challenges rarely affect only one person. Their impact can be felt throughout families, relationships, workplaces, and communities. When timely, compassionate care is available close to home, it can make a meaningful difference for both individuals and the people supporting them.
The Walk to the Lighthouse brings our community together to raise awareness and funds for the Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation’s For All Minds Campaign. This campaign supports the transformation of mental health and addiction care in Burlington, including expanded and modernized inpatient care, outpatient services, and a new Child and Youth Mental Health Day Hospital.
These are more than improvements to physical spaces. They represent greater dignity, safety, hope, and access to care for people experiencing some of their most difficult moments.
Walking as the Serene Lotus Team
At Serene Lotus Psychotherapy, our work is grounded in the belief that seeking help should be met with compassion rather than judgment. Our team supports teens, adults, couples, and families navigating trauma, anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, life transitions, and other mental health concerns.
Participating in this walk reflects both where Serene Lotus began and what we continue to stand for: creating supportive spaces, strengthening access to care, and reminding people that they do not have to struggle alone.
On September 27, our team will walk approximately five kilometres along Burlington’s waterfront toward the lighthouse and back. Every step will represent the individuals and families who deserve timely, respectful, and person-centred mental health and addiction care in their own community.
Help Us Make a Difference
We invite our clients, colleagues, friends, families, and Burlington community to support the Serene Lotus Psychotherapy fundraising page.
Every donation—regardless of size—helps move this important work forward. If donating is not possible, sharing our fundraising page can also help raise awareness and connect more people to the cause.
Please support our walk and help strengthen mental health and addiction care in Burlington.
Together, we can help ensure that when someone is ready to reach for support, compassionate care is there.
